Pulp Friction Smoothie Bar CIC is a social enterprise working with young adults who have learning disabilities or learning difficulties.  We train and support our Project Members to run our pedal-powered smoothie bikes at community events. Our main aim is to enable our  Members to develop their social, independence and work-readiness skills – this can lead to paid employment with us for some people.

In addition to the smoothie bikes, Pulp Friction also runs and supports a range of projects and activities:

Atmosphere Glee Choir – an inclusive, all age, all ability community choir which meets weekly and often performs at community events.

Pulp Dig-In – a soft fruit plot on the Dig-In allotment in Stapleford – we grow soft fruit which we use in our fruit smoothies.

Pulp Friction Ice Cream Tricycle – catering for public events, parties, weddings, school fayres etc. If you want to book us for your event please contact us on

Volunteering Opportunities – opportunities to volunteer to support any of our activities above.

We are always looking for new opportunities for young adults with Learning Disabilities to engage with their local communities –  projects in 2014 include:

Developing further the Pulp Friction Travelling Kitchen, a mobile community cafe which will offer catering at community events.

Running cookery courses for  people of all ages.

Developing and delivering inter-generational singing projects in the community and residential homes.
