Our Day Service creates opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to develop their Social Skills, Independence Skills and Work-readiness Skills within the catering and hospitality industry.
Members are able to work at their own pace in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
We help members to develop skills and self-confidence when they are working with us. Every member has a personal development plan and every member is encouraged to achieve a level 2 food hygiene qualification.
We are Aspirational, Inclusive and Purposeful for all our members.
Members spend their day in a working canteen where they help prepare food and provide a daily lunchtime catering service at:
- Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ Canteen
- NFRS Service Development Centre, Ollerton
- National Justice Museum Cafe
They also regularly prepare and deliver buffets to different events and training venues.
Pulp Friction develops members work readiness skills in a real work environment.
All members commence their training at the NFRS Canteen and as their confidence and skill level grow they are offered the opportunity to either continue their training at the canteen and in addition undertake placements at the NFRS Staff development centre and the National Justice Museum.
